OverRYDE is a training program founded and directed by Chris Bonus since 2019. His training includes choreography, technique, guest teachers, and a heavy emphasis in freestyling.

Chris introduces something called “Freestyle Theory”, applying concepts, challenges, creativity, and characters to any existing form of dance you possess. His intention isn’t to expand on your vocabulary but rather challenge what you already know and take your creative process to the next level.

OverRYDE occasionally hosts guest teachers in specific disciplines in dance such as Popping, House, & Contemporary and is always open to creating space for new guest teachers who can offer a fresh perspective on dance. Past guest teachers include Toni Shenfield, Bryce “Wonderbread” Koebel, Anna Bernard, and Simran Sachar.

Choreography is also taught in OverRYDE as Chris applies some of his Freestyle Theory challenges into his combos and offers a refreshing take on his students’ learning process. Chris’ choreography is mainly influenced by Hip-Hop, Popping, & Contemporary styles.

Chris’ unique perspective on dance comes from his experience in the studio, competitions, at battles, and freestyling on the streets. He brings a safe, supportive, and challenging culture to OverRYDE and wants to spread his knowledge to anyone and everyone willing to learn.
