Lauren (she/her) is from the small town Whitecourt, Alberta, where she found a strong passion for dance at the age of 5. She was first introduced to Hip Hop but soon began to train in many other styles of dance. Most of her training consisted of attending conventions such as Groove Street Production, directed by Joanne and Alex Pesusich. Inspired from the conventions, Lauren knew she would pursue a career in dance.

To start her journey, Lauren moved her training to Edmonton, Alberta, where she studied more disciplines of dance at Edmonton School of Ballet. She trained in more fine-tuned and specialized art forms such as Cecchetti and RAD, Graham and Horton, tap, Hip Hop and jazz. After graduating, Lauren moved to Vancouver and was accepted to the pre-professional, audition based company; Source Dance Company, directed by Joanne Pesusich. There she trained in multiple styles, learned about the industry, and had the chance to work with other artists and teachers/choreographers from L.A, Vancouver, Toronto, and London.

Since then, Lauren shifted her focus to Street styles. Lauren has trained in freestyle companies such as Higher Ground, led by Natasha Gorrie, where she practiced Hip Hop, Popping, Breaking, Locking and Litefeet. Lauren continues her freestyle training under the wings of Chris Bonus in a company called Overryde, where dancers can incorporate any training they have into their freestyle. Aside from freestyle, Lauren continues to train with audition-based reputable megacrew, TwoFourSeven Company, directed by Chris Bonus and Helen Dang, focusing more on competitive and creative choreography. TwoFourSeven is known to compete and perform locally and internationally. Lauren is also a member in the Vancouver based all female crew, Ruffnecks, led by Roberta Bierman.

As Lauren continues her training, she finds work dancing in music videos for local artists and on stage at music festivals. She teaches Hip Hop, contemporary and choreography classes around the city. She is grateful to share with the community and enjoys teaching at elementary and secondary schools, dance studios, and within her company classes. Lauren is eager to continue to learn and share!
