Chris Bonus is a dancer, choreographer, battler, and instructor from Vancouver, BC. Trained in many forms of dance, he excels in hip-hop, choreography, and freestyle having both competed and battled for majority of his dance life. He continues to fuel his competitive juices through TwoFourSeven Company as a captain/choreographer. Since joining TwoFourSeven, Chris is a 2x Canadian Hip-Hop Champion, 3x VIBE Competitor, 2018 World of Dance LA Champion and, most notably, the 2017 Body Rock Champion. Currently in his 5th year as a captain, Chris continues to contribute his unique take on choreography and freestyle in TwoFourSeven’s training and performances.
When Chris isn’t teaching or choreographing, he’s freestyling. He entered his first battle in 2007 and has been in love with the culture ever since. In 2018 & 2019, Chris hosted ADAPT, a freestyle battle event that helped bridge different corners in Vancouver’s dance community. He continues to push the art by incorporating freestyle theory in his training program OverRYDE and by supporting the local freestyle/battle scene.
Chris currently teaches all over BC and has been leaving his mark everywhere he goes including Calgary, Edmonton, LA, and Norway. His style varies with each combo he creates being influenced by many forms of dance such as popping, house, krump, contemporary, animation, and of course, hip-hop. The beauty of this is that you never know what to expect in his class and he might take you on an unexpected, yet, satisfying journey.
